Australian director Baz Luhrmann has shared new images to social media with news that his Untitled Elvis Presley project is set to start up again. This follows one of the trending topics of the day, Tom Hanks, who has returned to Australia to continue working on the film.
Social media was set abuzz with news that legend Tom Hanks is back in Queensland, Australia, to portray Colonel Tom Parker in the film. We were also treated to two new images of Australian director Baz Luhrmann who posted, “Welcome back cast and crew. “Taking care of Business” in the wonderful State of Queensland.”
The second picture posted by the Moulin Rouge! director shows a set taking shape. Battered windows, a somewhat desolate space. We’re intrigued to see if this a) is part of THE set and b) what does it represent, what part of the story is this, what will we see within this set?
I’m sure you can tell, but like Lilo in Lilo & Stitch we’re Elvis fans and can’t wait to see Baz Luhrmann and his creative team bring this story to life. So be sure to check out all our coverage of the film in our previous posts and social media.
The film also stars Austin Butler as Elvis Presley, Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley, Maggie Gyllenhaal as Gladys Presley, Rufus Sewell as Vernon Presley, Yola as Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Alex Radu as George Klein.
