We were treated to an exclusive look at two musical numbers from Ladies in Black and a short scene from the show. In between numbers Director Simon Phillips and composer Tim Finn discussed a variety of behind the scenes production moments. We also exclusively spoke to Tim Finn who has crafted over 20 original songs for the show.

Adapted from Madeleine St John’s 1993 novel The Women in Black, the production returns to Australian stages. With an incredible creative team at the helm including Australian screenwriter Carolyn Burns, director Simon Phillips (Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Love Never Dies) and original music from singer songwriter Tim Finn OBE (Split Enz and Crowded House) bringing the story to life. Ladies in Black premiered in Brisbane in November 2015. Ladies in Black last month garnered 6 Helpmann Award nominations, winning the Helpmann Award for Best New Australian Work.

The cast for the Sydney production includes, Sarah Morrison as Lisa, Bobby Fox (Jersey Boys) as Rudi, Carita Farrer Spencer as Mrs. Miles, Kathryn McIntyre as Myra, Greg Stone (Once and The Glitch) as Mr. Miles and Stefan, Kate Cole (Sweet Charity and Grounded) as Miss. Cartwright and Joy, Natalie Gamsu (Strictly Ballroom) as Magda, Madeleine Jones (Once) as Patty, Trish Noble as Miss Jacobs and Mrs Crow, Tamlyn Henderson (Les Miserables and Redfern Now) as Frank.
