It’s really rare when you come across a Disney film you haven’t seen. Such is the case with Pete’s Dragon. I may have seen the film when I was younger and perhaps I just don’t remember it, but for some reason I feel I haven’t seen it. And this offers me a very unique perspective when it comes to the live-action film. Having not seen the animated classic I will be going in with a clear mind frame and shall exit the cinema with an unbiased view on the film.

Or do you think I should watch the animated film prior?

I have to mention the theme. Composer Daniel Hart collaborated with Lindsey Stirling,  providing the solo violin part for Pete’s theme. As someone who loved Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast this new track reminds me of that really beautiful, happy, soft, gentle sound also featured in Tinkerbell.

The film stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Redford, Oakes Fegley as Pete, Wes Bentley and Isiah Whitlock Jr.. We’re excited to see our favourites, New Zealand actors Karl Urban and Craig Hall.
