We here at Inkwell co. are incredibly psyched for the upcoming release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Following the release of the 2014 TMNT film the sequel is set to follow with just as thrilling action sequences and comedic brilliance as the first. Leonardo (Johnny Knoxville), Raphael (Alan Ritchson), Donatello (Jeremy Howard) and Michelangelo (Noel Fisher) are back, along with Splinter (Tony Shalhoub), April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and Vernon Fenwick (Will Arnett). However, there’s an addition. If you’re a fan of Arrow star Stephen Amell, you will know that the actor has taken on the role of Casey Jones. Yep! For the TMNT fans among you, you know who I’m talking about the hockey stick wielding hero, who will join the turtles in their fight against evil.
We’re getting major old school throwbacks in the form of rollerblades, mohawks, Run DMC’s It’s Tricky as well as No Sleep Till Brooklyn by The Beastie Boys and a homage to Britney Spears in Baby One More Time. You’ll spot it in the trailer.
Here’s hoping there’s another stellar TMNT event for the premiere of the second instalment. In 2014 Megan Fox and Will Arnett attended the Sydney premiere. Now that was great, but the best part was the atmosphere. It was fantastic. Ninja’s scaled a structure and completed choreography on the scaffolding to the song Shell Shocked by Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign. To this day I still love the track and recently I revisited the 1990’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy. I may have watched them twice. Consecutively. To say I’m excited for the new film is an understatement. Make sure you check out the trailers below and our review on the first film. Don’t forget to check back for all the latest on the upcoming release.
