It was quite a glamorous night as the elite fashion crew hit the runway for the Myer fashion launch Spring/Summer 2015 show at Carriageworks Sydney. Stars who attended included Jesinta Campbell, Nicole Warne, Laura Dundovic, Samantha Armytage, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Nikki Phillips, with designers such as Alex Perry, Johnny Schembri and Kym Ellery walking the red carpet beforehand. Models included Myer ambassadors Jennifer Hawkins and Kris Smith, also strutting their stuff down the catwalk Nicole Trunfio, Kate Peck, Shanali Martin, and Julia Nobis. Instagram was set alight with Australian personalities such as Bec Judd and magazine editors Jackie Frank and Kellie Hush sharing their pictures online.
Jennifer Hawkins opened the show wearing Alex Perry. The designer created classic chic designs, working with light colours and beautiful lacework that set the standard for the show to follow. Hawkins also modeled her own label Cozi Swimwear, with some gorgeous colourful designs for summer. Maticevski served up some bright looks with hues of orange and yellow standing out. Cue had some amazing prints on display that could be described as bold. Also working with prints Jayson Brunsdon sent some fresh designs down the catwalk highlighting a romantic quality in the look, colouring and floral print. The men stood out as they walked down the catwalk decked out in shades of blue and grey for Dom Bagnato. Casual designs were also modelled by the gents when walking for Autonomy Clothing.
Fun and flirty designs were created by Aurelio Costarella and Karen Walker kept it simple with some beautiful stylish looks. Fleur Wood worked with pastels and a number of looks from shirts and shorts, to long ethereal gowns. Ellery created a fresh clean cut feel with exquisite designs and a distinct look that was clearly the Ellery trademark. The show also featured designs by Balmain, Morrison, White Suede and Blaq soon to be available at Myer. Arthur Galan AG had Kate Peck lead, wearing a great geometric print gown and Nicole Trunfio made a statement in a gorgeous black low cut gown for Little Joe by Gail Elliott. Jennifer Hawkins closed the show in a gorgeous white gown by Alex Perry.
Pastels and prints are still in fashion with a hint towards sorbet tones taking over the upcoming Summer look. It’s clear monochrome is another look we’ll be working with over the coming months, with splashes of colour here and there to compliment your spring/summer look.
