Comic-Con International, the place to be

It’s been a busy weekend in San Diego with Comic-Con taking over. You could say it was a meeting of the minds, and a weekend of exclusives.

Here’s what you need to know:

Multiple casts took the time to make appearances on the days including stars from hit TV Shows such as Arrow, The Flash and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, add to that The Avengers: Age of Ultron (featuring Australian actor Chris Hemsworth returning as Thor), premiering trailers, footage and behind the scene clips from past and future material. Fans were also informed that newly released Guardians of the Galaxy already has a sequel in the works and introduced Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.

Also among the crowd were stars from Game of Thrones. Proving to be quite popular, with hundreds in line waiting for an autograph. Fans caught a glimpse of new characters coming to season 5 including Australian born New-Zealand actress Keisha Castle-Hughes and a bloopers reel from previous episodes.

Popular TV shows included The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, where Aussie favourite Phoebe Tonkin took centre stage in the trailer for season two. She also showcased Aussie label Christopher Esber ruling the style stakes on the day. Aussie Claire Holt makes a return narrating part of the trailer, with Aussie guest stars potentially making an appearance on the show.

Fans were also treated to seminars and workshops, where not only could you preview footage from upcoming films, but learn how to write scripts, develop scenes for different genres and get an inside view of the way in which directors work, like Quentin Tarantino for example, who led a discussion.

The Big Bang Theory representatives also attended, talking about future story lines and the progress of the show. The Walking Dead featured their new promo trailer for the upcoming season. Fans were introduced to new series Constantine with a preview unveiled at the event. The Once Upon a Time cast shared exclusive insight into the Frozen angle they will be taking on next season. Others on hand included the cast of Sleepy Hollow featuring Australian actor John Noble, stars from Gotham, Vikings, Grimm, Person of Interest and American Horror Story.

Highlights also included The Rock making a special appearance promoting his film Hercules. He then proceeded to treat fans to a special movie screening of the film in a cinema nearby. Matthew McConaughey and Christopher Nolan surprised fans by attending to promote their new film Interstellar.

Megan Fox and Will Arnett were also in attendance, promoting the soon to be released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. Baby Daddy star Derek Theler took pictures with numerous stars including Zach McGowan from the cast of Black Sails.

Another popular addition was the exclusive first trailer for the upcoming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 movie, featuring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, sending fans into a frenzy waiting in anticipation for the November release.

The Hobbit cast attended and exclusively previewed the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. As well as stars from Batman v Superman with exclusive images and accounts. The Mad Max: Fury Road trailer debuted with familiar faces and landscapes in the trailer. The Book of Life had stars like Channing Tatum participating in a panel. Other films included Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and The Expendables 3.

Interestingly some stars joined in the fun and participated: Audrina Patridge dressed up as Mystique (Marvel) seen via instagram, Jack Black was walking around in a Stormtrooper helmet, he was also there to promote his film Goosebumps and Maisie Williams (known as Arya on Game of Thrones) as revealed on Instagram wore a mask for part of the time. Daniel Radcliffe made an appearance in a Spiderman costume and Jaden Smith also wore a Batman costume.

It was definitely the place to be.
